National Ticketing Reform - The Coalition for Ticket Fairness

Based in New York City, the Coalition for Ticket Fairness (CTF) is a national organization committed to reforming America’s ticketing industry, including ticket sales for live music, sports, and special events. Founded in 2015, the organization promotes numerous ticketing-industry practices designed to achieve more transparent and equitable purchasing processes that benefit fans, season ticketholders, and event organizers. Since its inception, the Coalition for Ticket Fairness has tackled deceptive industry practices such as hidden purchase fees, automated sales bots, and artificial barriers to purchase.

In addition to challenging longstanding, deceptive ticketing industry practices, the Coalition has developed policies that promote open competition, which further benefits consumers. Without these measures, CTF members believe that the future of the ticketing industry may be even more “broken” than it is in its current state. In recent years, the CTF has supported legislation that cracks down on ticket holdbacks and automated purchasing technology. Individuals interested in supporting or joining the CTF can learn more about policy and advocacy efforts at ctfusa.org.
